In a high-scoring season opener, the Red Knights beat Cooper 48-34 Thursday night. BSM jumped out to a 27-6 lead, but Cooper scored two touchdowns to end the half, making the score 27-20 BSM at the half. In the second half, the Red Knights broke it open, scoring 28 unanswered points, due in large part to senior RB/DB Jack Naughtin, who followed up his 30 yard touchdown run with a 100 yard interception return for a touchdown. The Red Knights have made a habit of beating the Hawks at the start of the season, winning by multiple touchdowns two years in a row.
