Within the past year, yoga pants and leggings have become a part of many students’ daily school attire, but the administration has recently made two new permanent changes to the dress code regarding the appropriateness of these clothing items. On February 6, upperclassmen dean Ms. Mary Andersen, sent out an email to all senior high students establishing the new rules. Skirts or dresses that rise above the knee may now be worn if opaque tights or pants are worn underneath and yoga pants are no longer allowed unless a longer shirt is worn over the top. “Because of the revealing nature of [yoga pants], students who wear them must have their rear-ends covered with a shirt or top that is also not too tight or too revealing,” said Ms. Andersen in her email.
