Opening its doors in Golden Valley earlier this summer, Smashburger isn’t exactly a new take on the classic burger joint, but it has definitely taken the art of fast food to new heights. The burgers there are absolutely delicious–they may as well be homemade–but Smashburger offers a lot more than just patties of beef on a bun.

They serve chicken sandwiches, three different types of salads, hot dogs, brats, a full kid’s menu, and their own specialty fries. Called SmashFries, they’re mixed with rosemary, garlic, olive oil and other herbs.

Located right on the corner of Highway 55 and Winetka, SmashBurger is a delicious and convenient place to stop on the way home. If you’re not in the mood for a full meal, grab a milk shake or a malt. Made from real Haagen-Dazs icecream, they alone are worth the trip.
