Twelve chosen BSM vocalists experienced long hours of choir practice and tired vocal chords, met other singers from various schools in Minnesota, and produced a concert in a short period of time. The musical pieces represented many styles including African, Latin, and classical, which required a lot of sight-reading. “It was hard, but it was fun, too,” said junior soprano Sarah Crawford. The choir, featuring some of BSM’s own singers, was conducted last week by Bruce Phelps, a college conductor who directed high-school choir for 25 years. Despite long hours and sore throats, the choir is glad to have had the opportunity to sing under Mr. Phelps. “It was an honor to serve our choir country,” said senior tenor PJ Bonello.
