Amazon Prime Video releases Candy Cane Lane on December 1st.

Candy Cane Lane, starring Eddie Murphy, is the perfect movie to kick off the holiday season. It features a good mix of comedy and adventure that will suit many viewers.

The film is set in Candy Cane Lane, a festive town that hosts an annual Christmas decoration contest. After family man Chris Carver (Eddie Murphy) is laid off right before the holidays, a $100,000 prize is announced to the competition winner. In an attempt to obtain some financial security, Chris purchases a magical tree from an elf named Pepper. However, she turns out to be evil and tricks him into signing a one-sided deal where he must collect golden rings or he will be turned into a glass Christmas toy. With the help of his family, Chris goes on a ring hunt inspired by the song, Twelve Days of Christmas.

The first thing I noticed was the overall quality and clarity of the film. Everything looked very professional on screen, and it was evident that lots of money was put into its production. With so many corny hallmark movies being pushed out recently, it was refreshing to watch a Christmas movie that seemed new and authentic. The realistic animations were my favorite part of the movie as MGM Studios helped bring the movie to life.

Comedic legend Eddie Murphy acted alongside a talented cast featuring Tracee Ellis Ross, Jillian Bell, Thaddeus J. Nixon, and Genneya Walton. Ross plays Chris’ wife and does a great job adding to the overall comedic aspect of the movie. Jillian Bell (Pepper the Elf) also did a great job portraying the villain, and I hope to see her in bigger roles soon.

Aside from all the chaos, there is a good message within the movie. Throughout the Golden Ring race, the Carver family rediscovers their passion for Christmas and become closer overall. They also learn the value of sticking together. Through all the adversity thrown their way, it’s their willingness to support each other and stick together that saves the day.

Overall, I think this is a movie worth watching. With a 41 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, I went into watching it with low expectations but quickly realized that it deserves a much higher score. It was ridiculous in some scenes but I enjoyed it from start to finish. I recommend this movie to families looking for a new holiday movie, especially comedy fans.

I enjoyed it as well. The perfect holiday movie to enjoy with the Family if they’ve grown tired of the same Christmas movie every year.
Also Rotten Tomatoes ? only likes certain movies ( agendas and themes throughout ) or they’ll give a movie like the Iron Claw good ratings because of they don’t people will call them out on their nonsense.
But yeah candy cane Lane , Totally Killer and Merry little Batman were huge surprises from Prime Video this year.
