“Red Notice” will not leave you disappointed
If you want to watch a crime/comedy movie, look no further, as “Red Notice” just might be the perfect fit. With an amazing cast that stars Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot as the main characters in the movie, with changes in scenery with scenes of Rome, France, Italy and many more.
John Hartley (played by Dwayne Johnson) is an FBI agent that specializes in art theft. Nobody believes that he specializes in art theft because he is too physically strong to specialize in art theft. In the opening scene, you can see John Hartley warning everyone that Nolan Booth (played by Ryan Reynolds) is going to steal one of Cleopatra’s eggs in Italy. As he is warning everybody, Nolan Booth has already stolen one of the eggs and the chase is on throughout the museum. After Nolan Booth escapes for the first time in the movie, he eventually gets caught at his house in Bali, and the egg and all of his stolen artwork is confiscated. Soon after his arrest, The Bishop (played by Gal Gadot) steals the egg and sets up John Hartley by saying he isn’t an FBI agent, which results in Nolan and John being cellmates at a Russian prison in the mountains.
As the movie continues, you can see how big of a role Dwayne Johnson plays in this movie, compared to his fellow co-stars Ryan Reynolds and Gal Godot. As the plot thickens, you see John and Nolan forming some sort of a friendship due to them both being wanted individuals. The hunt for the two other eggs and to take down the Bishop continues after Nolan and John escape from their Russian prison. They soon realize that the Bishop has a lot of powerful people in her corner, whether it’s arms dealers who want the eggs or corrupt police officials.
Throughout the movie, there are a ton of twists based on whether who is trying to stop the thieves from getting the eggs or who is trying to get the eggs and resell them, which results in all the characters being confused about who’s on whose team. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes crime and comedy movies. The amount of action and comedy creates the perfect balance, which can be hard to find in the comedy/crime genre. Above all, this movie sought out a very talented cast to play very fitting roles, hence audience members giving it a 92% audience score.
