BSM Drama Department presents “The Addams Family”
October 27, 2016
Members of Benilde-St. Margaret’s Drma Department have been busy working on their fall musical, “The Addams Family.” On October 26, 27, 28, and 29, the high school students will showcase their hard work with four performances.
Although a musical is performed each year, this production is really different from other shows. The show has the familiar characters and signature dance moves that resonate with the previous TV series and movies, but the plot brings a new twist on the tradition. “People should come see the play because it’s something really different than other shows we’ve done in the past. Everyone in the cast is really committed to the show and to their characters, and it really helps bring the whole story to life,” senior cast member Teagan Wolf said.
Attending the performance will also set the Halloween mood. Since the highly-anticipated holiday lands on the following Monday, watching the show will allow the celebrations to commence earlier. “It’s Halloween. Halloween is spooky. The Addams Family is spooky. Therefore, to properly celebrate Halloween, you must see ‘The Addams Family,’” sophomore actor Luis Mojica said.
The performances take place at 7:00 on Thursday through Saturday October 27, 28, and 29, and at 2:00 on Sunday, October 30, in the Hamburge Theater. Tickets can be bought at the show or online.
