Following a disappointing loss to Eden Prairie last week, the Benilde-St. Margaret’s boys’ lacrosse team fell to 0-2 with a loss against the Eagan Wildcats in their home opener on Saturday, April 20. Suffering a 11-9 loss, the Red Knights dropped their second defeat in just as many games. An offensively-driven first half by the Wildcats was too overwhelming for BSM and a second half comeback fell short.
The Wildcats high power offense took control of the game in the first half, scoring seven goals on senior goalie John Bowman. Though the Red Knights managed to scored five straight goals in the second half, the effort was not enough and Eagan held on for the win. “We couldn’t really take control of our offensive opportunities in the first half and that really came back to hurt us in the end,” junior Mikey Lamb said.
