Disney lied to me. Here I was, believing that a flounder was a cute chubby yellow fish with blue fins after I watched The Little Mermaid. But recently, I googled “flounder” and I found that they are in fact neither chubby nor cute––actually, they’re skinny, somewhat ugly, and oddly-proportioned. Why was a strange fish with two eyes on only one side of its body depicted as a loveable, huggable, squishy sea creature?
