After much speculation, the boys’ hockey team will be participating in Hockey Day Minnesota in Grand Rapids next season, according to head coach Mr. Ken Pauly.
The game will be played outdoors on Pokegama Lake. The official date will not be announced until the NHL schedule is released this summer.
This year will be the seventh annual Hockey Day Minnesota, with previous locations including Baudette Bay, Phalen Park, and Moorhead. The format for Hockey Day usually includes three outdoor high school games (two boys’ and one girls’), a Gopher game, and a Wild game, all televised on Fox Sports North.
Last season, Hockey Day was used as a platform to help raise money for Jack Jablonski through a telethon.
