The varsity boys lacrosse team took on the Academy of Holy Angels for their first section game, losing 8-7 on Tuesday May 12 at Holy Angels. The Red Knights played this team twice in their regular season, both resulting in losses.
The boys came back this game almost coming out on top, and in the end losing only by one goal. “Because we played them before we knew how they worked as a team and we knew their strategy,” said senior captain Stu Neville. “We were pretty confident going into this game. We certainly weren’t cocky, but we felt well prepared,” said Neville.
The Red Knights had a strong start as sophomore Sean O’ Toole scored the first goal of the game, and the team continued to play strong throughout the game, never giving up, as seniors Jamie McCormick, Andrew Dale, and Stu Neville, junior Mike Hoff, and sophomores Ryan Butts and Bailey Dodds scored the remaining six goals.
