Kelly Dempsey, Staff Writer
Kelly Dempsey is a young and inspiring Raynaud’s survivor. With terrible blood circulation in her feet, particularly the left foot, her feet and heels turn white and freeze up. As a youthful girl impacted by the traumatic reality of Raynaud’s, the girls’ bathroom sink and Percy the trainer’s hot pack are her best friends. Diagnosed by her mother at the age of 14, she has spent several months running in and out of dance practice to pour hot water on her toes, and massage her feet to get the blood flowing again. As the blood drains from her feet, she remains calm and follows the immediate procedure to gain back circulation. She hopes to educate others, and in the future, find a cure to this damaging syndrome.
