Kicking off the 2025 award season and setting the stage for fashion looks of 2025, the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards were held only 5 days into the new year. From Old Hollywood Glam to vintage strapless pieces, guests did not fail to impress with their stylistic choices. While many of the attendees dazzled on the red carpet, some, in particular, stood out from the crowd.
Challengers and Dune 2 star, Zendaya, to no surprise, was definitely among the attendees whose looks made a mark on the Golden Globes red carpet. The actress made an appearance in her Louis Vuitton custom gown. Paired with her hair styled up in a Marilyn Monroe style bob and matching pumps, the burnt-orange, Old Hollywood gown looked beautiful on the actress. Though Zendaya dazzled in her Louis Vuitton gown, one iconic look wasn’t enough for the actress. Just in time for the event to start, Zendaya traded in her Old Hollywood gown for a stunning sheath dress embellished with winding golden sequins. Both her looks alone definitely deserve a standing ovation. While both of Zendaya’s looks were nothing short of stunning, it was an that caught my eye the most: a diamond engagement ring, hinting at a soft launch of her engagement to her partner and Marvel costar, Tom Holland.
Actress, Margaret Qualley, also caught my eye on the red carpet. Styled in a beautiful white gown by Chanel, embellished with a tiered skirt and black bow detail around her waist, the actress sparkled. The black and white look, with hints of silver, had a sophisticated feel with a touch of fun. Qualley also styled her hair up into a voluminous ponytail, decorated with a sparkly headband. Qualley was among a couple of other guests including Nicole Kidman and Ariana Grande who went with the dramatic updo. Voluminous updos may be a new look of 2025 and I am definitely not mad about it.
The 2025 Golden Globes wouldn’t be complete without the public’s new favorite Wicked duo, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Erivo traded her typical green for a gorgeous custom black Louis Vuitton halter gown, however, it was her iconic nails that stole the show. Erivo’s nails were beautifully decorated in intricate art, gemstones, purple, and green, paying homage to her Wicked character, Elphaba.
Erivo’s co star and bestie, Ariana Grande, also had looked beautiful on the red carpet. Styled by Mimi Gutrell, Grande subtly paid tribute to the iconic yellow brick road in a vintage yellow Givenchy gown paired with a ponytail updo and adorable baby bangs. The Wicked star had a regency-era feel that gave her a sophisticated glow. Also, accessorized with opera gloves, Grande was on top of the opera-gloves trend at the event. Although Wicked did not win a Golden Globe, the movie’s stars deserved an award just for their iconic looks.
The Golden Globe Awards were definitely an exciting event for fashion fans as celebrities debuted their first iconic looks for 2025. From gorgeous gowns to subtle tributes to their work in the past year, the guests did not fail to wow me at this year’s annual Golden Globe Awards.
