Stephanie Nitchals, BSM’s principal since 2021, has been working in the education field for over 20 years. Her hard work and dedication to BSM has really made a positive impact on students and other faculty and staff members. Nitchals was more than willing to take on the intense role of Senior High Principal and used her skills to create a great working and educational environment for everyone in the BSM community. But after her years at BSM, Nitchals has decided to resign from her position as the senior high principal.
Recently, the news of Nitchals resigning from the senior high principal position has been going around BSM. It was relatively shocking news to most because people were unaware of Nitchals’ battle with her rare heart condition. Nitchals has been working very hard in her commitments to the students and staff of BSM, as well as in keeping the overall environment of the school positive. The main reason for Nitchals resignation is to take care of herself and ensure that her health improves. Because medication for her condition makes the body really tired and worn out, she decided to take some time off for her personal well-being. “I just feel like BSM needs a leader with a lot of energy, and I just don’t have that right now in my life. So I’m not going to another school or anything like that. I’m just going to take some time off and focus on my health,” Nitchals said.
Another big question among the student body and faculty is who will take over the role of the senior high principal once Nitchals officially resigns. Whether a current BSM staff member or someone entirely new will step up to fill Nitchals’ position is a question that still stands. Nitchals stated that the position is currently vacant and that they will be starting the hiring and interviewing process as soon as possible. “So the position is currently open. It’s been open for about three weeks. There’s going to be a hiring committee that starts going through applications next week,” Nitchals said.
Nitchals has dedicated so much of her time, energy, and positivity to BSM. She has many hopes for what the future holds for BSM and that she may return to the school she loves soon. “I really want to continue on the trajectory of positivity, and I hope that all students get to explore whatever passion that they have and that BSM has enough electives and opportunities for everyone to find their passion. That’s what’s most important to me,” Nitchals said.
