What Popular TikTok Skincare and Makeup is Worth it?

I have tested several products purchased because of their fame on TikTok.

For the past few months, TikTok has been the place for brands to promote their products. From promotions to get-ready-with-me content, videos showing off products have gone viral and people are going crazy over these beauty items. But are these TikTok-famous items really worth the buck? Keep reading to find out.

First off, we have everyone’s favorite, Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush. This product has absolutely blown up all over TikTok and social media in general. Influencers all over the world are dying to get their hands on this liquid blush that changed the makeup industry. I bought this product in early 2021 when it was first released, and since then I’ve repurchased it multiple times. The formula of this blush is made with a botanical blend of lotus and white water lily to bring out the best of your skin. Another great thing about this liquid blush is the variety of shades. Thirteen beautiful and unique colors are offered for this product. Not only is there plenty of shade variety, but I’m also happy to say that this product won’t cost you a whole paycheck! This blush runs at 23 dollars which gives you 7.5 milliliters of product. Overall, I would highly recommend this blush to people who are looking for a bold blush.

Next up we have the Refy Glow and Sculpt Face Primer Serum with Niacinamide. This is another product that I definitely would never have known about if it weren’t for TikTok. This makeup primer has been all the rage recently, and when I saw a bunch of people promoting it, some were even saying it was better than the Milk Hydro-Grip Primer. Of course, I had to try it. I was a little shocked when I saw that this primer was 34 dollars. I had expected it to be way lower, since I was unimpressed with the packaging. You get 40 milliliters of product and the applicator is like a face roller which I think is unsanitary to continue rolling the same thing on your face over and over. Compared to the Milk Primer which is 4 dollars more than the Refy primer, you get way more product and the packaging is way more sanitary and aesthetically pleasing. After using the Refy primer, I finally realized what all the popularity surrounding it was about: this primer makes my makeup look flawless. I wore my makeup all day and at the end of the day, I didn’t see any creasing, patching, or oil buildup anywhere! If you’re willing to get past the price point for the packaging, it’s a really great product inside and I would definitely recommend it.

Moving on, we have the Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm for Hydration and Shine. This lip product skyrocketed when they were released in early 2023. Coming in 7 different tints, these butter balms make your lips so soft! You can get one that is less pigmented, like the shades pink sugar, vanilla, or sweet mint, or you can go for a tint with more of a pop, like the shades cherry, brown sugar, vanilla beige, and poppy. The thing I love the most about these lip balms is the fact that they aren’t sticky at all. The formula is so smoothing on the lips and I feel like it actually hydrates my lips rather than just sitting on them. The one and only downside of this amazing lip product is the price. One of these lip balms will cost you 25 dollar–25 dollars for a lip balm! It is expensive but if you’re willing to spend the money, the Summer Fridays lip balm is definitely worth trying out because I think it’s a great product.

The most popular skincare item on TikTok in 2023 has to be the Tower 28 SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray. The reason that this facial spray became so popular is because it was targeted to tackle irritated, red, and acne-prone skin, which is something that has never been done before in a spray bottle version. This product is also fragrance and alcohol-free, which is another rare thing for face mists and means it’s good for those with sensitive skin. This product runs at 28 dollars, and I think it’s worth it. I got this facial spray as a birthday gift back in October and I was thrilled to try it out. I used to struggle with inflammation from acne on my cheeks and this product was a holy grail. My skin calmed down and improved so much and it was all from adding that facial mist into my skincare routine. I would definitely recommend this product if you’re struggling with sensitive skin and acne.
