Meghan Lind DesLauriers (class of 1999) will serve as the interim president of BSM starting on July 22.

Earlier this week, chair of the board Laura Portz and search committee lead Biz McShane Murphy announced that they had hired an interim president to take over for Dr. Adam Ehrmantraut.

Meghan Lind DesLauriers, the interim president, is an alumni who graduated from BSM in 1999. Since her graduation, DesLauriers has continued to be an active member of the community, serving on various committees and attending school events.

“As an alum of BSM, Meghan is very familiar with our community. She also has a clear understanding of BSM’s strategic vision, having been on the Board of Directors from 2013 to 2019, serving as Board Secretary and chair of the Governance Committee. Meghan was named a BSM Distinguished Alum in 2019 and has remained active in the BSM community in many ways, most recently as keynote speaker at this year’s alumni breakfast with the Class of 2022,” Portz and McShane Murphy said in an email sent to the community.

As well as being an active alum, DesLauiers has spent twelve years as a lawyer working for Dorsey and Whitney in Minneapolis. She also has a strong educational background. “During her time at Dorsey, Meghan earned multiple accolades within the Minnesota legal community. A 2008 graduate of Northwestern University School of Law, she holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Boston College,” Portz and McShane Murphy said.

DesLausiers will continue as president until the board hires a permanent replacement. Although originally scheduled to leave on July 1, Ehrmantraut extended his time at BSM until July 22 so DesLausiers can take over. The board is grateful for DesLausiers stepping into this role and expects her to be successful.

“We’re incredibly fortunate to have a leader like Meghan willing to step into the role and guide Benilde-St. Margaret’s during the coming months if needed. Meghan’s deep history with BSM, relationships in the community, leadership skills, and professional experience all position her well to lead our school during this important search for the next President of BSM,” Portz and McShane Murphy said.

As the board continues their search, they will update the community on their progress.
“The Presidential Search Committee will continue to provide updates on the search progress in the coming months, and appreciate your patience as we endeavor to identify the right person to build upon the strong foundation we have at BSM, fulfilling our mission to educate, empower, and inspire our children so they continue to lead lives of faith, achieve academic excellence, and contribute meaningfully to the world around us,” Portz and McShane Murphy said.
