Every Spider-Man Movie Ranked

All Spider-Mans, Loud and Clear Reviews, Sony Animation, Fair use

All four generations of Spider-Man are almost impossible to rank.

1. Spider-Man: No Way Home

I can easily say that this is my favorite Spider-Man film ever made. Spoilers ahead so stop reading if you have not watched yet! This movie was the ultimate celebration of three generations of Spider-Man. With Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and the old villains all coming back into this film, it was like an overwhelming amount of nostalgia. The first time I saw it, I could not stop crying from the death of Aunt May until the credits stopped rolling.I have now seen the movie four times in the theater and would not mind seeing it again and again. This movie takes first on my list because I literally see no problems with this movie and have not gotten sick of it after seeing it in the theater four times.

2. Amazing Spider-Man 2

This movie is so underrated. As I was researching while writing this, I found ASM2 to be on the bottom of many people’s lists. Although this movie has one of the most depressing endings of the whole franchise, the film will always have a special place in my heart. It also reminds me of my childhood since the film was released in 2014. This movie was honestly one of the first films that made me interested in Marvel. The movie has comedic aspects and I know I can always look to this movie after a long day. This movie takes second place on my list because if it weren’t for Spider-Man: No Way Home, it would be first.

3. Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse

I honestly thought I was not going to enjoy this film as much as I did. I thought it was going to have a children’s emphasis since it was animated. With the movie being animated, it actually felt like you were in the comics which you don’t quite get with the live-action movies. This film was also the first representation of a POC as Spider-Man, a huge step for Marvel and the Spider-Man franchise. The soundtrack to this movie is also phenomenal. It is also a great movie because it takes the feeling of old comics with new CGI effects which is something we do not get in new films. This movie takes third on my list because it is still one of my favorites but the top two will just always have a special place in my heart.

4. Spider-Man: Homecoming

With this being Tom Holland’s first Spider-Man film, it had to take the top half of my list. I really love it but I really wouldn’t be able to put it above any of the top three. One reason I love it is because Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is a part of the Avengers so along with Peter Parker (Tom Holland), this movie also stars Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). This film is really what got me back into my Marvel phase that I still am in now so I will never be thankful enough for this movie. This movie takes fourth on my list because it is still one of my favorites it just cannot top the first three.

5. Spider-Man: Far From Home

This was a hard movie to watch for the first time as it was the first Marvel movie after Avengers: Endgame. This movie will never get old to me though. With its humor, twists, and international spin, I could watch this movie forever. It takes fifth on my ranking because Jake Gyllenhaal is the villain and I despise Jake Gyllenhaal. This movie would be better with anyone else playing Mysterio other than Jake Gyllenhaal.

6. Spider-Man

Ok, this might be controversial but this movie really just belongs on the bottom half of my list. Yes I love Tobey and will forever praise him for being the first person to bring Spider-Man to life, but he is my least favorite Spider-Man. He is a really good Peter Parker but in my opinion, Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield are better at doing Spider-Man and Peter Parker. This movie does have one of the best villains, Green Goblin, which is why it is not lower. This movie was made in the early 2000s so the effects are not very good. This movie takes sixth on my list because although it is a classic, I do find myself bored at points.

7. Amazing Spider-Man

As I’m getting to the bottom of this list, I want everyone to know that I don’t dislike these movies, they just are not my favorites. This movie isn’t bad, it is just very 2012. Also, Curt Connors is one of my least favorite villains of the whole franchise, I just don’t quite understand his villain origin story or anything and never have. I do love Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man but the sequel is definitely my favorite out of the two. This is seventh on my list because it really is not my favorite out of all of the films but it doesn’t deserve last place.

8. Spider-Man 2

The only thing I really love about this movie is Dr. Octavius, the villain. Doc Ock might be one of the best villains in the whole Spider-Man franchise and that’s really the only thing that makes this movie good. This movie ranks eighth because of the reason I just said, Doc Ock is the only thing that makes it good.

9. Spider-Man 3

This movie is just nothing special. If Andrew Garfield only got two, they should have only given Tobey Maguire two and saved him from this. This movie just lives in the back of my mind, I never think about it. The movie is also paced horribly and there were way too many conflicts. This movie is last on my list because it is the weakest of all of Maguire’s movies and is just my most disliked.
