Meet the Red Knight: Freshman Olivia Gorton
Where do you want to be in 15 years?
“I want to be out of college, even though that is way sooner than that. I am envisioning myself with a reliable job, something that I can depend on. I want to be happy and start a family. It is crazy to think about the future because 15 years ahead of me is my whole life.”
What talent do you find unique or important to you?
“I sing. I know a lot of people do it, but I find it fun. One of the first ways I started singing was just a soloist at a concert and that opened other doors for me. I did the plays at BSM and I am currently doing voice lessons, and I have been for over a year. Also, I would say I am good at making friends and socializing with people. I am more of a social person in general, and I enjoy making new friends. I am not sure how I developed these skills because my mom is not the most social person in the world, but she encourages me to go out and make new friends.”
Describe your childhood in 4 words.
“Happy. Chaotic. Loving. Substantial”
Who is your hero, and why?
“My mom and God. I am the closest with my mom, and I am Catholic, so it makes sense for God to be a hero of mine.”
What is an item you bring with you everywhere, besides a cell phone?
“I would say I bring my smile almost everywhere. I feel like it is hard for me to have a bad day, unless it is really bad, but I still have a smile on my face.”
What makes you laugh?
“A lot of stuff! Well, other people are the main reason I laugh, just silly stuff. Sometimes, I make myself laugh too.”
Are you someone that wants someone to spoil the end of a show or movie for you?
“I would want to watch it and find out because I feel like either they could describe it wrong or they take the fun out of it.”
What is your least favorite fast-food chain, and why? What fast-food chain is your favorite?
“Burger King is the worst! I am not sure why, I just don’t like it. My favorite fast-food chain is Chick-fil-A, all the way!”
