Smoothies

Strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and almond milk: mix it all together and you know you’ve got the best of both worlds (for all the oldies, that is a Hannah Montana reference!) For starters, the health benefits of smoothies are immense. Smoothies can disguise “healthy” foods like spinach, chia seeds, etc. so they affect the body the same way, but the gross flavor is greatly overpowered by the fruits. Also, unlike most drinks, after consuming a smoothie the body feels good and refreshed! That same thing can’t be said about a sugary soda drink. People may be opposed because smoothies don’t necessarily blend well with every food; for example, a Chinese food dinner and a fruit smoothie may not be a prime combination, but separately they are equally fantastic, so I would suggest keeping smoothies for solitary meals. Many would agree that nothing quite says breakfast like a smoothie–it’s filling, has a superb taste, and is easy to blend. Smoothies are also an exceptional lunch or dessert option!
