DIY Turmeric Face Mask:

This is a simple, three ingredient recipe made up of turmeric, honey, and milk or yogurt. Because the main ingredient is turmeric, this mask stains for awhile, but with a few washes the yellow pigment disappears. After washing the mask off, skin should seem softer, less red, and there should be smaller bags under the eyes.

DIY Banana-Oat Mask:

Ingredients include bananas, oats, honey, peppermint, and cinnamon, which are all common household items. All of these ingredients are anti-inflammatory which help reduce redness and soften the face. Ingredients can be used in any amount, allowing users to customize the mask to the preferred consistency. Though this looks strange on the user’s skin, people really enjoy this mask.

Best store bought face masks ($$$):

One of the best places to buy face masks is LUSH beauty. This store is more commonly known for their bath-bombs, but sells other products such as shampoos, conditioners, lotions, soaps, perfume, makeup, and other face products. LUSH is unique in the fact that it is handmade cosmetics, made from mostly natural materials. One of the most popular masks is Mask of Magnaminty, which is made up of fresh ingredients such as primrose seeds, peppermint, honey, aduki beans, and other natural ingredients. It deeply cleans the pores while exfoliating dry skin, and soothes and eliminates redness. Using this once a week can help tackle complexion problems. LUSH’s other popular face masks include Don’t Look at Me, Cosmetic Warrior, and Cup O’Coffee. All of these masks cost around ten dollars.

Best store bought face masks ($):

For a cheaper store-bought option, look to Target for great masks. A few good sheet mask brands such as Yes To or Alba Botanica carry good masks for acne, oil, dry, or wrinkle-prone skin. These options are all under five dollars. Some of the best masks to buy are the Que Bella masks. These masks cost only one or two dollars but still are effective. They have good peel-off and wash off masks such as the Deep Cleansing Aloe Mask or Relaxing Lavender Mud Mask.
