“The teachers and people around me helped to shape my identity. They opened new perspectives for me and gave me options and thoughts about different things in the world. Doing volunteer work helped me learn more about myself. Last summer I volunteered for a week in Honduras and that kind of shaped who I am. After that I started wanting to do more to help around the community. I find that it helps me as well as those I am serving. It has helped me realize what reality is and how much the world needs help” – Florenica Padilla
