Paige and Taylor McLeod, both six years members of the girls tennis team, were crowned the State AA Doubles Champions on Friday, October 30.  The Red Knights girls tennis capture their first state title since Shannon Cooney and Elsa Perushek won the Doubles championship in 2005.

The Run to the Trophy started out smoothly for the duo, beating teams from St. Louis Park, Bloomington Jefferson, and Apple Valley in 2 sets each, before beating Eastview in 3 sets for the Section 6AA title and a spot in the State AA Doubles Tournament at the U of M Baseline Tennis Center.

The McLeod sisters breezed past Rachel Will/Gabriel Noack from Northfield and later beat Grayce Peterson/Chloe Hall from Prior Lake on Thursday for a spot in Friday’s final 4 doubles teams.

They had a tougher time against the Riermann sisters of Mahtomedi, but still defeated them in 3 sets for a spot in the Championship match against the Tarrolly sisters of St. Cloud Tech.  Paige and Taylor beat the St. Cloud team in just 2 sets, capturing that elusive state title in their final season at BSM.
