Boys’ Basketball falls to Waconia in section semifinal
The boys’ basketball team entered section play as the number-two seed but were unable to defeat the Waconia Wildcats and saw their season come to an end. Waconia entered halftime with a nine point lead, but the Red Knights quickly closed the gap at the start of the second and the game remained deadlocked entering the final few minutes. Waconia’s jumpshooting, however, proved to be too much to overcome and the Red Knights were beaten 69-60. Senior captain Colin Polarek scored a career high 22 points in the loss as the team finished with a 15-12 record; an eight win improvement from last season.
