Senior captains Colin Polarek (14) and Sam Lynch (10) are the team’s leading scorers midway through the season

After only winning seven games last season, the Red Knights matched their win total from the previous season with a conference win over Spring Lake Park. The win moved the Red Knights into first place of the North Suburban Conference early in the season.

The Red Knights got off to a strong start and took a 36-24 lead into halftime. The lead continued to grow throughout the second half and the Panthers were unable to put a dent into the Red Knights’ lead and pulled off a 65-53 win.

Senior captain Sam Lynch scored a season-high 24 points to lead the offense with Colin Polarek and Sam Baker finding double-figures as well. “They’re a pretty good team and we knew that going in, so I think everyone played just a little bit harder especially since it was an important game in terms of our conference race” said Polarek.

The Red Knights are on a three game winning streak with a road game against rival DeLaSalle before moving into conference play with games against Fridley and Totino-Grace.
