Cretin-Derham Hall honors lost students with purple out

Students of Cretin-Derham Hall have rallied together in support of their classmates. The school community has faced three student deaths since this school year began. The students decided upon a purple out, after their school color purple. The purple out took place on Friday, December 6 to honor all those who have died after the most recent on November 28th.โ€œThe idea of a purple out is to show our solidarity as a community, that we can remember those who have died and lift their spirits as well as our own,โ€ Chris Babcock, technology teacher, cross country, and track and field coach at CDH, said.

The CDH community hopes to continue its support network as a Catholic and spiritual group. โ€œMy hope is that we will remember them, and the connections that we have formed because of their loss and carry that sense of community forward as a foundation for this year and the years to come as we welcome others into our community,โ€ Babcock said.
