Cheers rang throughout the hall as the lights flickered off at 10:50 a.m., signaling loss of power. To their chagrin, students were forced to remain in their fourth hour classes until some of the power was restored an hour later and administrators came to each classroom, telling the classes to go to their fifth period and wait for further instruction. However, minutes into fifth hour the restored power went out; school was released at 12:25 p.m. This is the fifth consecutive year BSM has had a major power outage.
