With the Red Knights honoring their three seniors, the Red Knights captured a 6-5 extra inning win over conference foe Cooper. The Hawks scored four-runs in the seventh to take a 5-4 lead, but Mikey McGill’s RBI single in the bottom of the inning tied the game and sent the game into extra innings. Senior Dan Labosky only needed 11 pitches to retire the Hawks in the eighth inning and then stepped up and drove a single into left field giving the Red Knights a 6-5 win. Marshall Hoemke and Nathan Hanks both recorded two hits in the game, but Dan Labosky was the star of the game with his game-winning hit which capped off a 3-5 day but also recorded his first win of the season. The Red Knights will face Totino-Grace, who they are tied with for the conference lead, on Wednesday May 15 and with a win the Red Knights will be guaranteed a share of the conference title.
