Four students from the journalism program along with four teachers will be going to San Francisco, California to attend a journalism convention hosted by the National Scholastic Press Association this coming weekend. At the conference there will be classes about all different types of journalism from video journalism to news reporting. This is also where NSPA will announce which journalism programs receive awards and recognition. The students going are current staff writers Jackie Lawyer, Megan Pohle, and Anna McCloskey, and current features editor Laura Shannon. Journalism advisors Mr. Jason Wallestad and Mrs. Kari Koshiol, photographer teacher Ms. Christine Kinney and English Department Chair Mr. Tom Backen will be going along with the students. “We have been nominated for the online award, but we would like be recognized for print and online at the convention this year,” McCloskey said.
