Senior Grant Besse has been named Minnesota’s 2012-2013 Mr. Hockey to cap an incredible career at Benilde-St. Margaret’s. The highly talented senior scored 48 goals, including six hat tricks, and tallied 28 assists in his final high school season. Besse crushed multiple BSM school scoring records with 163 goals and 272 points in his four years of varsity hockey, including 21 hat tricks in his career. He was nominated alongside his linemate Dan Labosky. This spring, Besse plans to play baseball with the Red Knights during the week and then play hockey with the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League. Besse has committed to play for the University of Wisconsin Madison next year. “It’s awesome, as much as I wanted to go out as a champion and win it all again this year, this is a close second to that feeling,” Besse said.
