Senior Jarred Oftedahl finished his high school wrestling career with a State championship win in the 113 pound weight class at the Class AA level. Oftedahl, one of six Red Knights who compete this past weekend, entered the tournament ranked number one in the 113 pound weight class and had only suffered one loss on the season. After winning three matches, Oftedahl advanced to the final where he defeated Abbot Aho of Fergus Falls 8-6 to capture the State title. Oftedahl will compete in wrestling at St. Cloud State, one of the most prestigious wrestling programs at the Division II level.

Junior Christian DuLaney finished second in the 182 weight class and two other Red Knight wrestlers took home medals from the state tournament. Eighth-grader Jake Allar won three matches at 106 pounds to get to the third-place match, where he lost to finish fourth. Sophomore captain Logan Kass won three straight matches to earn a shot at third place at 132 pounds, but he also came up short to finish fourth. Junior Jake Deutschlander (145 lbs.) and freshman Jameer Anderson (220 lbs.) also represented Benilde-St. Margaret’s at the state tournament.
