Several students received high scores and national honors for their success on the annual AMC math exam. Students in grades 7-10 took the AMC 10 test, while juniors and seniors took the AMC 12 test. Top scorers in the AMC 10 were Allen Chen, Justin Barnett, Amanda Kautzer, Ryan Dunn, and Jason Kang. And Erin Choi, Jack Munkeby, Callaghan Commers, Haley Jerabeck, and Kiley Peterson on the AMC 12.
Junior Erin Choi and sophomore Allen Chen’s scores made them eligible to take the American Invitational Mathematics Exam (AIME) in March. If these two students do as well on the AIME as they did on the AMC, they will qualify for the USA Math Olympiad where they will compete on an international level. “This is the first time in many years that BSM has had national qualifiers. We are excited and proud of Erin and Allen for qualifying to go on in this national competition,” Math Department Chair Jean Nightingale said.
