Technology Integration Assistant Mr. Dan Sylvester holds the Apple Distinguished School Award, presented to BSM this morning.

BSM was presented with the Apple Distinguished School Award this morning in the Hamburge Theater. This award is given to schools that show innovation and technology in the classrooms. After being invited to apply and piecing together an iBook application to showcase BSM’s use of technology, the Technology Department was notified of the achievement in late December. “Over the course of the last few years, teachers and administrators from other schools have come and seen what we have been with technology in different classrooms…We went through a process of being interviewed and writing and application, and [we] have shown that what we have done in the classroom is not just shiny objects, but distinctive and enhanced and transformed learning,” Director of Technology and Learning, Steve Pohlen said.
