BSM sophomore, Molly Flannery captures joy on canvas through her abstract spray paint art. Flannery’s spray painting style is more joyful than defiant because her spray painting involves emotion and depth; one glance at Flannery’s art would not be sufficient to fully capture the complex emotions she strives to portray. Flannery’s garage (and art studio) is filled with her inspiring graffiti art. Although spray paint is usually made to destroy or show anger, Flannery uses these materials to create something brilliant. “[I create] something that intrigues your brain when you look at it. My art is open to interpretation,” Flannery said.
