When the Red Knights matched up with the North Branch Vikings in previous years it has resulted in blowouts. Most notable is last year’s 84-21 Red Knight victory. This year, however, was different, with a thrilling triple-overtime game going in the Red Knight’s favor, 77-75. North Branch took a 33-28 lead on the Red Knights early in the game by taking advantage of defensive miscues and poor Red Knight shooting. However, the Red Knights tightened up their game in the second half and came out strong, scoring 30 points to the Vikings’ 25. The Red Knights kept pace with North Branch in the first and second overtimes, scoring five and seven points in each extra frame, respectively. In the third overtime the Red Knights were able to score seven more points while holding North Branch to just five for the hard-earned victory.
