Panthers hand Red Knight basketball another defeat

After their first conference victory off the season, the Red Knights traveled to Spring Lake Park to take on the Panthers. The Red Knights were without point guards Jayson Edwards and Colin Polarek due to injury, putting junior Nick Birney into the open role. The Red Knights found scoring chances in the first half against a porous Panther defense; however, turnovers led to multiple Panther fast-breaks and gave Spring Lake Park a 37-29 halftime lead. The second half provided a slower pace, but the Panthers stepped up on the defensive end, defeating the Red Knights 63-47. Junior forward Devol Trotman scored 16 points to lead the Red Knights while the Panthers were led by senior guard Gary Cook’s with 18 points.
