Despite a strong performance from their defense, the girls’ hockey team was only able to score one goal in a 3-1 loss to the Buffalo Bison on Friday, January 4. Buffalo started the scoring in the first period with a shorthanded goal from defensemen Allison Roethke. The Bison added to the lead in the second period with a late goal, and tallied another midway through the third period. Red Knight defenseman Sara Taffe, a senior, scored on the powerplay in the final minute of the game to prevent the shutout. Junior goaltender Abbey Miller took the loss after playing 29 minutes and stopping only 12 shots on net.
