During the first girls’ varsity basketball game in the 2012-2013 winter season, the Red Knights beat the Orono Spartans 49-43 on Tuesday, November 27. The girls started with a great first half that ended with a five point lead. When the second half started, the girls took a 17 point lead, but Orono took control of the game and came back to tie the game in the last five minutes. The Red Knights surged late and got the last six points to secure the win.
