Mitt Romney nominated as the official Republican Presidential candidate

Liza Magill, Opinions Editor

Although major campaigns have been running for months and many assumed that he was already the nominee, Mitt Romney finally received the official Republican nomination on Aug. 28 for this November’s Presidential election. This announcement came at the climax of the 40th Republican National Convention, held in Tampa, Florida. Many key Republican political figures––Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney’s wife Ann Romney and Chris Christie––attend and give speeches at the convention to attract Republican voters or to further understanding of their party’s message.
