The baseball team took their first loss of the season against the Hopkins Royals on Saturday, April 14, by a score of 11-5. The score was tied at 4 going into the 8th inning, but the Royals overtook and outscored the Red Knights 7-1, ending the game strongly and leaving the Red Knights with an “L” on the stat sheet.
“We’ll hopefully see them again later in the [post-season] and we’re confident we can compete with them again just like we did in the first game,” said senior pitcher Willie Falk. The baseball team is not scheduled to play Hopkins again in the regular season, but a post-season matchup is a definite possibility. The team’s next game is at St. Francis on Thursday, April 19.
