The annual National Spanish Exam was held on April 3, 2012. The test determines a student’s language proficiency and recognizes their achievement in the language. This standardized test contains multiple choice questions varying in subject from grammar to vocabulary, and students take the test online. Each student’s test is based on their class level, and students who excel may receive scholarships: the Global Citizen Scholarship, Junior Travel Award, and scholarships for high school seniors. Students are also awarded medals ranging from gold to bronze, and those who placed in the highest percentile in the nation receive honorable mention awards.
