Girls’ hockey overpowers defending state champion
December 12, 2011
The girls’ hockey team played a tough match against Minnetonka, the defending state champion, on December 10 and came out with a 2-0 win. Both goals were scored within the first five minutes of the game: the first by sophomore Caitlin Reilly, and the second, 30 seconds later by junior Anne Arnason. The Red Knights had to deal with two penalty kills while down two players, and played excellent defense against the Skippers. After stopping all 26 of Minnetonka’s shots, sophomore goalie Abbey Miller recorded her second shut out of the season.
