The BSM National Honor Society hosted a blood drive on Wednesday, Nov. 16, sponsored by the North Memorial Hospital. Students 16 years of age or older are allowed to donate their blood to save people’s lives. NHS members recruited during lunches the week before and found interested students that met the height and weight requirements, to donate blood. The day of the blood drive, students check in with the blood drive staff and spent 45 minutes taking a pint of blood (650 calories) from their arm. “Giving blood is a unique experience and an easy opportunity to save lives,” said senior Ian Norman.
