The Red Knights Boy’s soccer team won their first game of the state tournament last Thursday at the St. Cloud State University Stadium against the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton Lumberjacks. Although the Lumberjacks scored first, in the 12th minute on a short pass to Landen Straub, the Red Knights quickly responded. Less that three minutes later, senior midfielder Brendan Schember responded with a goal off a rebound to tie the game 1-1. Just three minutes after that, senior forward Jake Horton scored another goal, assisted by junior midfielder Matteo Potter, putting the Red Knights up 2-1. The final score of the game was 2-1, and the Red Knights move on to play St. Paul Academy Monday in the Metrodome.
