Toni Flaherty, clinical social worker from West Suburban Teen Clinic, spent the morning enlightening the junior class on the dangers of depression, stress, and suicide. Using PowerPoint presentations, videos, and personal experiences, Flaherty was able to convey much information about the causes of depression and the negative effects it can have on the lives of high school students. Flaherty also elaborated on the BSM Wellness philosophy of stress and time management, addressing the fact that stressed high school students need a little bit more tranquility and relaxation in their lives.
