BSM has many time-honored traditions, one of them being the presence of Amity scholars in the Spanish and French language classrooms during the second semester of the school year. BSM continues the tradition this year by welcoming Sofia Secoff of Argentina and Jamila Lalough of France as this year’s Amities. While Amity scholars are usually unique to immersion schools, this program has been a part of BSM for 18 years. “We believe in having authentic speakers in the junior and senior high,” said Mrs. Mary Murray, who is in charge of the Amity program at BSM. Both Secoff and Lalough will be working in the French and Spanish classes to educate students about the language and their culture. Secoff has already arrived, and Lalough will arrive in mid-February.
