High capacity magazines: bad idea

Bernardo Vigil, A&E Editor

I was sitting in my deer stand, decked out in camouflage and wrappers from gas station food: waiting for the perfect shot. Hours passed by. Nothing stirred in the woods. And then, all of a sudden, thirty deer came out of nowhere and I shot them all! Thank God for that hand gun with the high capacity magazine. I don’t know how I would have been able to bag all of those deer without it.

The truth is, unless you’re hunting during the Running of the Bulls there’s really no need to be able to hold 30 rounds in a magazine. But then again, maybe high capacity magazines are necessary for people to protect their homes. Fair enough. But if it takes 30 rounds for you to hit your assailant (or assailants) I really don’t like the idea of you holding a gun in the first place.

Dick Cheney––as in, voted to keep Kevlar piercing, cop killing bullets legal Dick Cheney––Dick Cheney, as in voted to keep plastic guns designed to get past metal detectors legal Dick Cheney––Dick Cheney as in shot someone in the face when he was vice president Dick Cheney––has come out and said that extended magazine clips are probably a bad idea. And I’m pretty sure that Cheney isn’t part of the liberal media trying to steal our guns.
