Battling the elements, the boys’ cross country team fought to a ninth place finish at the Eden Prairie Metro Invitational 5k on September 13. In a race loaded with larger and more experienced teams, the boys encountered fierce rain and chilling winds that greatly slowed the race down. Leading the way for the Red Knights was senior captain Matt Oestreich, who finished 17th overall with a time of 17:07. The team has been working hard in practice and hopes to improve upon this performance at the upcoming Milaca Mega Meet on September 20, one of the largest meets in the state.
