Thanks to seven solid innings of pitching by senior Jack Dwyer, the boys’ baseball team started their regular season off with a victory, defeating conference rival St. Louis Park 2-1 on Wednesday, April 9.
Dwyer dominated the St. Louis Park lineup, only giving up one unearned run and pitching a complete game. The Red Knights did struggle a bit offensively but were able to outscore the Orioles thanks to a monster homerun by junior Charlie Perrine. “It was the first game of the season and it was really cold out, so I’m not too worried about our hitting,” said senior Louie Mondale.
The boys have three games next week, playing at Chisago Lakes on Tuesday then at home on Thursday and Friday against Fridley and Bloomington Jefferson.
