Charlotte is tall enough to spot her friends in the hallway from three classrooms away, which is very convenient when she’s racing to her favorite part of the school day: lunch. She claims winter is the superior season because snow days are basically free holidays and shoveling counts as cardio. She’s just as excited about the team pantry full of snacks on the softball field as she is about actually playing. At home, she bravely puts up with her little brother, who seems to think his life’s mission is to annoy her, and unfortunately, he’s pretty good at it. She also has a complicated relationship with her room, which somehow manages to look like a tornado passed through it—even two days after a “deep clean.” Honestly, the only thing she’s truly mastered is the art of napping. Rising balls at the plate, though, she remains undefeated on the field.
