Boys’ hockey badly outshot in loss to Shattuck

The boys’ hockey team was outshot by almost 20 shots during their loss to perennial powerhouse Shattuck-St. Mary’s 5-2 on Wednesday, Feb. 8. Both teams got equal offensive chances in the first period, but the Sabres ended up with a goal to put them up 1-0 to end the period. Shattuck-St. Mary’s dominated play in the second, scoring three more goals while allowing only three shots against in the second frame. Besse scored a goal to start the third period and added another towards the end of the third, but it wasn’t enough as the Sabres potted an empty-net goal to seal the win. Senior goaltender Anders Jecha got the loss, and the Red Knights record diminished to 16-6-0.
